Boat sharing service called Boatsetter is a US platform with over 17,000 rentable boats in over 600 locations.
The service works identically as Airbnb and allows renters to find big yachts or small powerboats. Insurance and safety measures are also a key ingredient of their success.
Boatsetter’s founder Jaclyn Baumgarten admits that the main audience of the service are female millennials renting boats for bachelorette parties.
According to Jaclyn, millennials are attracted to such service as “it makes it possible for people to experience an afternoon on the water, complete with a captain, without having to commit to the high-cost reality of being a boat owner.”
