Bumble Vulnerabilities – dating in danger
A group of researchers from the Independent Security Evaluators found that Bumble users that got blocked could get a lot of information about other users.
This event happened about 6 months ago, when researchers warned the Bumble administration that the Bumble API was not performing the necessary checks and had no restrictions, so an attacker could easily find a lot of information about users.
And it took them about 6 months to solve the problem.
Chipotle starts collaboration with Hinge
Chipotle, Uber Eats, and Hinge are collaborating to improve date eating habits.
Every Hinge user would receive $20 off first 3 Chipotle orders through Uber Eats.
There will be a competition among all customers using the new menu, 10 selected participants will have the opportunity to get relationship consultation from the actress Rebel Wilson.
Hinge becomes Tinder’s rival
Apps such as Hinge, Pairs, BLK, Chispa and Hawaya reported solid growth of around 88% in Q3.
Hinge reported an 82% rise in app downloads.
Initially, the dating culture at Hinge was the opposite of its competitor Tinder, but then they noticed that people leave Tinder because of the dating culture and go to Hinge.
Thus, Match Group bought the app and managed to preserve the audience.
In Q3, Hinge updated its paid features: users can gift virtual roses and use Standout prompts to stimulate conversation between dates.
Yubo has raised a sizable amount
Yubo is a French startup app and is a Tinder for youth under 25. The application received a lot of attention and gathered about 40 million users.
Every day, users enjoy live broadcasts when meeting new people.
The startup recently acquired $ 47.5 million in Series C funding. The Yubo administration wants to spend the money to expand the headquarters and improve the app. They now have offices with 30 employees in Paris, London, Jacksonville and plan to open a branch in New York.
