Here’s why dating apps have taken a sudden liking to women
A new trend is growing stronger on India market – women-focused dating apps. For example Dil Mil, Gleeden and Bumble
Dil Mil doesn’t allow Indian men to register, only women and non-resident Indian men.
French app Gleeden, poses itself for women already in a relationship, is free for women but men have to pay to send messages.
Bumble allows only women to initiate a conversation.
Match Group’s CEO on innovating in a fast-changing industry
Mandy Ginsberg published an article for Harvard Business Review where she talks about how online dating changed since she joined the industry back in 2006.
During these 12 years, The Match Group hit quite a few milestones:
The appearance of OkCupid and PlentyOfFish caused some changes. While Match.com relied only on monthly subscriptions, the new platforms were using the income from the ads system. Which caused Match.com to review their monetization and UX strategies.
But the biggest disruption was caused back in 2008 when IOS App Store was introduced for the first time. Since then the era of mobile apps has begun.
The next milestone is when Tinder appeared. The app incubated by IAC and Match Group, and it became one of the most well-known dating apps in the world following a viral launch on college campuses across the US.
ViDA: this dating service will flirt for you, but it will cost you
Matchmaking service ViDA Select is now the biggest virtual dating service.
The platform has lots of different consultants – stylist, photo analyst, app-swipers and etc.
The main idea is to work together to manage your online dating profiles while you do something else.
