Drinx app was announced as the latest HubStars’ ‘Million Dollar Dating Project’ winner.
As the part of the project, the app will receive a share of the seven-figure investment from Hubstars to support dating entrepreneurs.
Main idea of Drinx app is to find singles around you that are at bars and are up to meeting the same day.
Founder Cody Waller explained: “Drinx Dating creates real-life connections by prioritizing people based on distance, which is likely to lead to more dates and meet-ups.
We aim to connect people who like meeting in-person like the good ol’ days at bars and clubs on a night out, even with a group of friends!”
First two HubStars’ winners were Dig, dog lovers dating app, and Tabby, app for cat lovers.
GDI announces August’s virtual webinar with Spectrum Labs and RealMe
Global Dating Insights shared that Spectrum Labs, FTI Consulting and RealMe will participate in their August’s ‘Virtual Third Thursday’ webinar.
They will be talking about ‘A Closer Look into Online Dating’s New Normal’ – a study on how COVID-19 impacted online dating. As well as what this means for the industry and daters for the foreseeable future.

Gamers need love too: Kippo dating app for gamers emerges
According to Entertainment Software Association, currently there are around 164M of gamers in the US.
To target this audience David Park launched a dating and social app called Kippo.
Their main feature us the card system – here users list their top ten games, their Myers-Briggs personality profile, and other interests to get the most like-minded matches.
OKCupid debuts new matching system
OKCupid’s new matching system, “Stacks,” unveils potential matches with new categories, including: Recommended, Question Pros, Online, Nearby, New People (for paid subscribers), Popular (for paid subscribers) and Match Percentage.
OKCupid’s changes are aimed at making the process of finding a match easier before a would-be couple moves on to communication. Users can now access each of the above categories to locate the best possible matches.
